The Anti-Extortion Squad arrested a duo of RTI activists while they were accepting an extortion sum of ₹15 lakh from the administrative officer of a reputed school in Thane; the activists had previously filed a complaint with the Thane Municipal Corporation alleging that the school's construction was unauthorized and had demanded the money in exchange for withdrawing the complaint.
